About Us
Kids Safety First is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting
automotive child safety. Kids Safety First provides its materials free of charge to Police Departments, Fire Departments, Hospitals, Elementary Schools and other entities throughout the United States.
Kids Safety First was founded in 2004 by Jorgen Weterrings and PK Shrivastava who, collectively, have over 45 years of experience in automotive technology and safety. As parents of younger children, these founders experienced first hand the confusion parents often face in selecting and using the right child safety seats as their children grow and age. They were also frustrated by their continuing experience with parents and caregivers who were not fully aware of the dangers associated with allowing children to ride unrestrained, or the dangers presented by airbags to infants and children if placed in the front passenger seat of an airbag equipped vehicle. Kids Safety First has given these founders the opportunity to address these issues, share their knowledge, expertise and experience, and to help make a positive difference in the safeguarding of children's lives nationwide.
